Coupon Matchups 7/21 to 7/27 for Giant Eagle…Stockpile Cereal with Extreme Couponing and Score Cheap Gas Fill -Ups!!!

There is an AWESOME cereal promotion at Giant Eagle stores this week that can save you 20 to 60 cents off every gallon of gas (by stocking up on 75 cent boxes of name- brand cereal. Since this is a great price on everyone’s favorite quickie breakfast, I say stock up as much as you can depending on how many coupons you have!!

There is also a groovy Catalina promotion for Viva paper towels…you can be stealthy and use this to your advantage…buy the Viva paper towels deal first, check out, get your Catalina coupon, and THEN apply the added savings towards your cheap cereal (and then go pump up on your discounted gas!!

Here’s how this would work:

1. Single rolls of Viva paper towels are priced at $2 per roll. When you buy four single rolls, the Catalina machine at the register will print out a coupon that will give you $2.50 off of your next purchase. (you will have to buy FOUR rolls to receive the coupon at checkout.)
2. Buy your four rolls of Viva paper towels. But use four (one for each roll) 85 (these will double to $1.70 off each roll) cents off coupons that were in Smartsource coupon insert from 7/17. This essentially makes each roll of paper towels 30 cents each, so you will be paying $1.20 for FOUR rolls of paper towels at the register.
3. Get your Catalina coupon for $2.50 off your next purchase. Go right back into the store and head for the cereal aisle.

Here’s where it gets interesting…many brands of cereal are on sale for 4 for $10, or essentially $2.50 per box. This list includes Raisin Bran, Life, Rice Krispies, Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, and many more. Not a GREAT price, right??

Well, combine this promotion with some coupons, and it becomes a fabulous deal!!

When you buy 4 of the participating brands you get 20 cents off per gallon of gas, buy 8 and get 40 cents off, buy 12 and get 60 cents off!!

Coupons that will make this an AWESOME deal…

• 75 cents off Life cereal from 6/19 Redplum (will double to $1.50)
• 75 cents off Cocoa Puffs Brownie Cereal from 7/17 Smartsourch (will double to $1.50)
• 50 cents off Original Cheerios from 6/26 Smarsource (will double to $1)

S0…(an example)

1. Buy four boxes of Life or Cocoa Puffs cereal (using four 75 cents off coupons listed above)
2. That will bring your total down to $1 per box, or $4 for 4 boxes.
3. Use your $2.50 off your next purchase catalina coupon from the Viva towels to bring your total down to $1.50.
4. You get four boxes of cereal for $1.50, plus 20 cents off each gallon of gas on your next fill-up!!

Not too shabby!!!

Sadly, not a lot else going on at Giant Eagle this week, here are a few more deals:

• Barilla Pasta is on sale for 4/$5…use the $1/2 coupon on Barilla Piccolini pasta from 6/26 smartsource (some inserts got a 55 cents off 1, which will make this deal MUCH sweeter, around 15 cents per box!!) to get pasta for 75 cents a box.
• Fresh Express Salad Blends are BOGO this week…use 2 of the 75 cents off coupons (states that it cannot be doubled) from the 6/26 Smartsource to get each bag for a pretty decent price…I’m guessing 75 cents per bag, as the price isn’t listed in my ad.
• Peaches are also on sale for 99 cents per lb, which is a great price.
• Green onions on special for 79 cents per lb, which is also great!! I looove green onions!

Stockpile/Shopping Suggestions:

So, for just $10, you could buy:

• Four rolls of Viva paper towels ($1.20)
• Four boxes of Life or Cocoa Puffs cereal ($1.50)
• 7 boxes of Barilla Piccolini pasta, at the 15 cent price ($1.05)
• OR 2 boxes of Barills Piccolini pasta at the 75 cent price ($1.50)
• 4 bags of Fresh Express Salad Blends ($3.00)
• 2 lbs of peaches ($1.98)
• 1 lb of green onions (79 cents)

TOTAL: $9.52, PLUS you’re saving at least 20 cents a gallon on gas!!

Combine this grocery list with my Shop ‘n Save must-have list for the week, and you’ll have a great selection of ingredients for of meal ideas to cook this week, plus a lot of products leftover for your stockpile!! (Combining both posts, you would have A TON of groceries for only $30 this week!! Meat, fresh produce, condiments, cereal, lunch meat, pasta, household cleaners, quick-dinner fixes (like Hamburger Helper), etc.) And the beauty of it is, if you’re smart and savvy-and I know you are-all this is MORE than enough to feed you for the week, so you’ll be Stockpiling a lot of it for future use.
